Please consider throwing us some cat-surgery-coverage dollars to support Marcel on his healing journey!
On Sunday, February 16th Marcel was admitted to the ER vet because of excessive vomiting, no appetite, sad little meow sounds, and general lethargy. An x-ray found he had a blockage in his intestine that was too big for him to pass, and we had to get it out of there.
If you have been blessed enough to meet this little guy IRL, you know his chirps, snuggles, and cutie-pie-can-do attitude are delightful. He is a 10/10 excellent cat, no notes, except for sometimes he eats things he shouldn't eat. This time it was a yoga mat, and being a piece of plastic, it got stuck in his guts.
Why did he eat it? I don't know. I can't ask him. But it turns out I love him a LOT and paid more than I EVER thought I would for cat surgery. (It cost $7,300 )
We (I) would really appreciate any support you can show for his big surgery bill as we navigate the ongoing healing journey. Hopefully he's learned his lesson, but he is a cat, so maybe not. I have certainly learned my lesson about pet insurance.
If you can send a few coins or dollars our way, we'd be very grateful. Thank you for any and all your support!
Thursday 2/20 update:
Marcel is healing really well! He is adapting to life with a cone and his appetite is growing. He is especially happy about the wet cat food Scot & Niki brought over, as well as all the doting and snuggling he is getting while he heals. He would like to go outside and play in the apple tree but that isn't going to happen until he gets his stitches out on March 3rd. If any of y'all are local and want to come pay see him for some head scratches, he loves visitors. text me!
