I'm a nerdy man living in Los Angeles working by supporting people with developmental disabilities through a non profit.

In my free time I make youtube videos teaching people about Japanese video games and a Japanese video game company Atlus as well as making art.

On Sunday January 26th while cooking my dinner I heard a loud boom outside of my home. When I went to check what happened I noticed a car driving over 60 MPH slammed into my parked car, hitting it so hard it was pushed onto the sidewalk. This destroyed the car making the cost of repair far exceed the cost of the car.

Initially I exchanged information with the driver after the police got involved but I learned the card I was given wasn't for AAA insurance but rather other services AAA offered. This resulted in AAA stating he did not have a policy with them after running his name, VIN number, license plate and calling the number he provided.

On my end my insurance declined to cover the damage as well, because according to them, my uninsured motorist/underinsured motorist coverage only covered harm to me and not damage to my vehicle.

This means I am not able to purchase a new vehicle through any insurance payout and have to do it out of pocket.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to help get me to the point I can actually purchase a new vehicle. I'm aiming for 15,000$ as that should be sufficient enough to buy a decent car. Without a car it'll add another hour to my commute and limits my ability to travel especially for other obligations such as the doctors appointments I've been going to for the purpose of identifying and treating my ongoing stomach issues.
