My Car was Totaled, Anything Helps
Donation protected
Back in November I financed a vehicle for the first time. It was my Nissan Versa, although money was tight with the car payment I loved every second of owning it. On Memorial Day, I was driving home after work when a driver in the left lane was speeding and over/corrected when trying to merge into my lane. He tried to merge and didn’t see me until the last second, over corrected and hit the median and began to tailspin. I was hit from the side and knocked in between him and a Ford F250. I have neck and stomach injuries but mostly okay. Thankful I’m alive!
I have some obstacles in the way, to get the claim money from State Farm I have to register my car first which includes the taxes on the purchase price (20k) and 700 in registration fees. While this is ongoing, I have to continue to make my car payment due to my loan being new and the Bank not allowing me to skip a payment. I have a rental car for now from my insurance company, but the stress is high during this difficult time. I didn’t have Gap insurance as well (something I regret) which is also going to leave me with $4,000 to pay on my loan.
all that to say, anything helps!
