Hi, my name is Sedric, also known as Sed, a photographer here in Houston. Those who know me know that I lost my mom to cancer a few years ago as well as everything i owned and worked hard for up until that time. I then spent the next couple of years working to get back to a level spot in life, moving to California for a short period of time where I had to suddenly leave due to being in another accident where I was on an electric scooter, and a car was driving really fast and to avoid the car I made a hard left turn, slamming the right side of my body on concrete going 19mph, unable to walk for 6 months, I made a recovery and I finally got back on my feet and bought a car that I loved. And this car was my way of working, my way of surviving, my way of caring for my dog.
On Friday, September 15th at around 4am, police reported an individual suspiciously walking around a nearby apartment complex, after being spotted with their vehicle flashlight, the suspect ran towards my townhome community and decided to break into my car and hotwire it. He then led the police on a 30 minute chase going over 120mph in my car to then abandon it at another apartment complex where it was later towed. I also had photography equipment in the car as well as other gadgets and my wallets, one personal, one business. Everything valued over $3,000 not including the car damages which I am estimating to be over $5,000. And yes I know, why did I leave my wallet, it was just one of those, I will get it in the morning type of nights.
I did everything in my power to try and stay on top of it, I made a police report, filed a claim with my insurance, however they denied me a rental car and are trying to deny me help due to the fact that my car was found and say that I cant claim it as stolen or as a collision since my car was not involved in a car accident. So now I am without a car, a way to work, a way to survive because of some random person, who I know wont get caught and if they did I would not be able to prosecute or gain any sort of funds for my damages.
I was working on the production of the greatest video I was ever set to direct this month, And now the opportunity has been taken away from me, I have lost work due to this, and with bills continuing to come in I feel like I am back to zero. Please help fundraise money to get me back on the road and to cover the cost of the equipment stolen as well!
Thank you for you time, and please share this with your friends and family.
Best,
Sed
