My Car Died Heroically … Without Warning
Donation protected
My car and I have been through a lot — school runs, late-night supermarket dashes, the occasional questionable drive-thru. But yesterday, she said, “No more” and left me stranded like a bad rom-com breakup scene.
She went out in dramatic fashion —mid-life crisis — and now she’s on a one-way ticket to the great scrap yard in the sky.
I’m a working mum, usually sensible with money (apart from that one time I bought a fancy cheese board I didn’t need). But with the old car gone, I’m suddenly one engine short of functioning daily life. I could save up and buy a new one slowly… but where’s the fun in that?
In exchange for your donation, you’ll get:
• My eternal gratitude (and possibly a car-themed haiku)
• Updates on my quest for a new set of wheels
• The smug feeling of knowing you helped a mum avoid becoming that person lugging six bags of shopping on the bus in the rain
If you’ve ever had a car betray you in your hour of need, or you just want to see if we can internet-magic this into existence, chuck a few coins in the pot. Let’s turn this broke-down-mobile saga into the feel-good car story of the year.
