Hi, my name is Liam. I'm 36 years old, from Manchester, and currently work at Tameside Hospital.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this.
I have recently been diagnosed with incurable stage 4 duodenal cancer that has metastasised to my peritoneum. My world has been turned upside down, and over the past seven weeks I have been in hospital undergoing procedures and treatment to help me recover enough to begin chemotherapy.
I have now been discharged and am about to begin my chemotherapy treatment at The Christie. After visiting recently, I am feeling incredibly positive and hopeful.
This fundraiser has been created to help me access the best possible care throughout my cancer journey. Alongside my NHS treatment, I hope to explore any additional treatments, specialist consultations, complementary therapies, or clinical options that may not be routinely funded by the NHS. The funds will also help with travel, accommodation, and the many other expenses that come with ongoing treatment and recovery.
Asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but I'm determined to fight this with everything I have. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help ease some of the financial pressure and allow me to focus on what matters most—my treatment, my recovery, and spending precious time with the people I love.
If you're unable to donate, simply sharing my fundraiser would mean the world to me.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. It truly means more than words can say.
I also cannot thank the NHS, my family, and my friends enough for being there for me every step of the way.
