My Brothers Hope (We can recover from addiction) forever 33

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Charlotte. I’ve been in recovery from addiction for over four years, thanks to the transformative experience I had at Ark House rehab. This journey has given me the chance to live a clean and sober life.

However, I carry a heavy heart after losing my baby brother, Thomas, to addiction six months ago. This loss is my greatest pain. As someone who has experienced recovery, I know that he never had to die. There is a solution to living a fulfilling life free from addiction, and I often reflect on how Thomas could be here today, thriving just like I am, if he had been given the same opportunity I was.

As a family, we have had to endure the unimaginable pain of living without him, a sorrow that feels insurmountable. This experience has fueled my passion for helping others still struggling with addiction. That’s why I work with the rehab that once helped me, and I also dedicate time to support individuals seeking recovery through fellowship meetings.

What deeply troubles me is the reality that not everyone has access to treatment. It pains me to see those in need unable to afford the help they require at the most critical moments. In memory of my brother, I’ve decided to raise funds to assist someone in need of treatment, so they can experience a life free from the grips of addiction.

My father affectionately called Thomas “Thomas Gump” because of his love for walking, which he did for his mental health and simply for the joy of it. In his honor, I’ve accepted the challenge of walking the Three Peaks in the North, covering 24 miles through rugged terrain. My goal is to raise funds that will either help someone enter treatment or extend their stay, ensuring they receive the support they need.

I want to provide someone with the opportunity for a new life, just as I was fortunate enough to receive, and as I wished my brother could have experienced. I invite you to join me in this mission to honor Thomas and create a positive impact in someone’s life.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for any support you can offer. Every donation means the world to me and has the potential to change a life.

With love,
Charlotte
