Hi,

My name is Jenny Ranawake and I am setting up this fund raiser to help my BIL who is currently in hospital.

5 months ago, our lives changed in an instant.

While working in Abu Dhabi my BIL suffered a sudden severe brain haemorrhage, he was rushed to hospital and spent nearly there 3 months receiving critical care there before being transferred to Sri Lanka for continued treatment.

Today he remains fully bedridden he has no sensation from the neck down and he is currently being fed through tube. Despite this, his memory, awareness and spirits are strong - he knows his family, understands everything around him, and continues to fight every single day.

This medical emergency came without warning, unfortunately his insurance coverage will come to an end later this month. While his medical needs remain urgent and on-going. The hospital cost along is approximately $ 15,000 per month.

He is a devoted Husband and a Father. Before this happened, he worked hard to build a loving home for his family. His son is currently attending private school and preparing for his HSC next year. Overnight his wife has been forced in to most difficult situation of her life / trying to care for her husband, support her child and manage overwhelming medical expenses, all while having no time or ability to liquidate assets quickly.
