As Carlos’s Aunt Debbie and administrator of a court-supervised estate, I wanted to place a final post in his honor. He fought a good fight and suffered for 72 days. He is now at peace and out of pain. I want to personally thank you all for your prayers and concern over the months, your donations to the Go-Fund-Me account, and your faithfulness as friends. Carlos incurred a medical bill of a high 7-figure amount. Thankfully, insurance covered the vast majority of that but the funds raised for him will help to defray some of the additional co-pay bills There are a great number of logistical issues to attend to. My top priority is helping Claire with the complicated paperwork, medical bills, other bills, and transfer of assets. There was a recent post suggesting that “Greed is a sin” on the GoFundMe page. I don’t know the person who posted that but this person has no personal knowledge of the expenses remaining or what is being done to help Claire through the court system. I can assure you that every dime raised has gone into an account at a local bank to pay medical bills. I must also point out that most folks have no clue about the legal process and how it works when someone dies suddenly without a will. It has only been 39 days since Carlos died and settling estates, medical bills and other time-consuming paperwork is not an easy process. It seems that there is someone in Carlos’s circle of friends who feels they are entitled to something and that something should be given to them even before the estate is settled. No one… not even the heir to the estate can take anything without a court order until the estate is settled.
Carlos and Nancy entrusted me, a retired nurse, and his aunt as well as his uncle, my husband, a lawyer for 46 years, to take care of his business. We intend to do exactly that and will help our great niece, Claire. We will not allow her to be manipulated, controlled or taken advantage of.
The Faul Family would like to thank everyone that donated from the bottom of our hearts!
THANK YOU!
