My heart is an open wound for you my brother

No mother should endure the agony of having to bury a child. Yet, here I am, watching my mom in the depths of sorrow, playing out all the "last times" in her head. It overwhelms me to have to accept this. My brother, Chris, is on life support and has officially been declared brain dead. My mom has barely left his side. She is, well where any mother would be, spiraling through hope, denial, and the empty billows of grief. Beyond this pain, she has made one of the most difficult but honorable decisions, to donate Chris's organs.

I find some peace in knowing Chris's donated organs will help others to live longer lives. Someone on a wait list will get the transplant they've been praying for. My brother, leaving this world a hero is such an honorable legacy!

Chris is my youngest brother. He's had his ups and downs throughout his adult life and the circumstances that brought us here are not where I'm choosing to focus my attention. I am helping my mom begin the memorial planning process so that she can provide a proper farewell service for her youngest child. If you are open to donating any amount, it is so greatly appreciated. I know every donation will help ease the expense of this unforeseen emergency. I know times are tough and I did not want to go this route but I know this will help to not add to my mom's stress.
