Who Am I?

Hi! My name is Conor Nolan. I'm 21 and a third year Student at Trinity College, Dublin. ​

I've always had a real passion for gaming, both as a social and fun experience with friends as a competitive experience with teammates.

I've competed in many local & national gaming and esport events with friends in Ireland over the past few years, and eventually ended up running some of the largest eSports events in Ireland. I've spent a lot of time giving to the community, and now I'm asking for your help!

Recently I've had the opportunity to lead the live event and online production for some large events.

During this time, I've learned a huge amount about online and live event broadcasting. I've been lucky enough to be able to work with renowned industry leaders like Riot Games , Dreamhack and Multiplay (Insomnia Events) as well as local Irish Gaming events such as G-Series and Irish Collegiate Esport in a broadcast production capacity.

You can catch one of my most recent projects here for Irish Collegiate Esport for which I was responsible for the full online and offline viewing experience including graphics, animations, etc.

What I Want To Do

I want to create the first broadcast studio in Ireland that focuses on gaming and esport, fully equipped to carry out any type of broadcast project.

My goal is to produce the highest quality broadcasts, working with a lean team and with essential, high quality equipment.

Why I Want To Do It

I came from and continue to be supported by a very generous and kind community.

Through this support I've been able to grow my skills and bring other passionate individuals on board who share a similar passion to my own.

I believe that we can create a world class production studio here, in Ireland but I need your help to get off the ground!

What I Need

Being a student, the biggest hurdle for me is acquiring funds to buy our own equipment. I recently put a lot of work, effort and money into the running of a show for another event of which I was not paid for, leaving me in a poor financial situation. Originally I had planned to invest the full amount earned into a studio, however now I am in debt.

Until now, I've either had to borrow equipment or rent it. This has also limited the time that I have had with particular equipment to learn from and really push the broadcast to the next level.

It's pretty easy to imagine that production equipment like cameras, lighting, sets can rack up to quite the bill.

We're going to start small and humble, then build from there, by continuing to show that we can match the highest levels of broadcast production, but we do need help to get up and running.

Why Use GoFundMe

A couple of months ago, I was engaged in production for a gaming event in Dublin. I planned on using the payment from this event to help fund the first steps in opening Moon Bear Broadcasting. However, the event ran into financial difficulties and has not paid any of the amount owed.

This is obviously quite a large amount of money to lose out on, through no fault of my own. With payments like annual college fees etc, it's incredibly difficult for me to be able to raise this myself.

It's my hope that GoFundMe and your generosity will help me realise my goals of opening our Studio in Dublin, this coming June!
