From Cake to Conservation: Celebrate your birthday by planting a tree

My Birthday Tree is presenting a simple but powerful idea: What if we celebrate birthdays, keep the party the cake and the fun, and add a way to give back to nature?

The first My Birthday Tree campaign was launched in Morogoro in Tanzania in 2021, and monthly tree-planting activities combined encouraging fellow students to dedicate their birthdays to planting trees. The idea quickly gained support and spread to different regions in Tanzania.

Seeing the impact and growing community interest, they expanded their mission. In 2023, they officially launched My Birthday Tree Organization — a platform committed to driving meaningful environmental change by inspiring people and communities to actively protect and restore nature.
