My Big Brother Needs Open Heart Surgery

Hi everyone, my name is Jordan Rosenzweig. I am launching this Go Fund Me in hopes that my brother Scott and his family can get through this upcoming challenge without worrying about overwhelming debt and keeping a roof over their heads.

As some of you may know, my brother Scott was diagnosed 10 years ago with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a complex heart disease that affects the heart muscle and Mitral Valve Prolapse. Over the last decade, he has seen his quality of life decrease without letting the public know what was happening. After adjusting his lifestyle and treating this with medication the disease has progressed to an obstructive form of HCM. Being a husband and father with a family to provide for and take care of, he needs to maintain the best health possible.

The tough decision was made yesterday to schedule open heart surgery for May 12, 2022. With the surgery in a few weeks, we have a lot to do in a short period. Recovery time will be roughly 3-6 months or so, and without short-term disability, he will need to get back to work as quickly as possible. We have a long road ahead of us as a family, and we would appreciate any help folks may be able to provide for our family in this time of need.

My brother is the sole income earner in his household, while his wife Sarah cares for their 2-year-old son throughout the day. This dynamic has worked for their family up to this point. However, given current circumstances and the expected recovery time, raised funds will be utilized to assist with costs of living and medical expenses for Scott, his wife and son.
