Hi, my name is Junior , and I’m raising funds to help my dog, Yendi, get the emergency surgery he urgently needs after a traumatic accident.
A few nights ago, around midnight, I was walking my dog like I always do — he loves his late-night walks. While crossing the street, I noticed another person nearby but didn’t realize they had a dog. As we got closer, the dogs began to sniff each other. Suddenly, the other dog — a pug — chased my dog into the street. In the chaos, I lost my grip on the leash. The other dog stopped at the sidewalk, but my dog ran into the road. The next thing I heard was his bark — a sound of pain and fear I will never forget.
I rushed him to the only place open at that hour: the emergency veterinary hospital in Yonkers. The consultation, pain medications, and X-rays alone cost $1,088. After examining him, the veterinarian told me he has four fractures in his femur and urgently needs an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery to walk and live comfortably again.
This has been incredibly overwhelming. My home doesn’t feel the same without him being his happy, energetic self. I’ve spent the past week calling every low-cost clinic I can find, but I’ve been quoted $5,000–$8,000 for the surgery. I was only given one week of pain medication, and time is critical for his recovery.
I love my dog more than anything, and his health and quality of life mean the world to me. Any donation — no matter how small — would go directly toward his surgery and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give during this incredibly difficult time.
