Mey - Beloved Sister-in-Law with Coecum Cancer

Mey who lives in Cambodia is only 42 and the mother of two beautiful babies Neaklika 4.5 year old girl, and Gabriel a fabulous 3 year old boy, has just been diagnosed with Coecum Cancer in her Colon. She requires emergency surgery and then ongoing chemo for about 6 months.

They are in Cambodia which only has a few hospitals that are near the standard in the USA and surgery and care is comparatively expensive.

Compared to the USA it is actually very cheap and for Mey to have the surgery and ongoing care should cost no more then $9,000. In the USA I am sure it would cost at least three times as much.

We are very worried that as the tumor is growing and bleeding it could spread, and Mey could eventually die without the surgery, leaving Neaklika and Gabriel without a mother, which would be a tragedy. They are a beautiful and faithful family and mean a lot to us.

We humbly ask you for any donation that you can spare. It would mean so much to everyone.

I will update you all on the progress as things move on.

Attached are the two full reports on her tumor and cancer that I personally paid for so we could understand what was wrong.

The first one is the Histopathological Report and the second shows the pictures of the tumor and the bleeding, the Colonoscopy Report.

She is in a lot of pain, is very uncomfortable and needs emergency surgery. She hardly eats now, (lost 10 kilos/22 lbs - in the last 3 weeks, so she is only 50 kilos/110 lbs now) and is very poorly.

She talks about just dying, which shows how low her spirits are. I can’t imagine what would happen if the babies lost her.

In Cambodia medical support is nowhere like it is in more developed countries, but in the capital of Phnom Penh there are two pretty modern hospitals that can do this critical surgery successfully. She has an appointment with a Japanese surgeon tomorrow and we desperately need the money to get her taken care of and admitted.

I just cannot afford it, and nor can Mey’s family who are poor. I have three children and take care of numerous family members and have already paid quite lot for the reports. Unfortunately, this surgery beyond my means which is why I have launched this appeal for help.

She will be in hospital for about 7 days, and then will have chemo every 3 weeks.

We are praying the cancer has not spread.
