My beautiful step mums funeral

Hi. My name is Megan. I am trying to raise some funds to help arrange my step mums funeral.

My beautiful , loving , fun & caring step mum Marion had a really sore throat at the start of march this year 2022. She went to the doctors several times and was told she had a ‘ viral infection ‘. After months and months of going back to the doctors for the same problem they finally referred her for a scan/ biopsy etc at the hospital. Fast forward from march to August and she has been told she has stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to her kidneys, liver & brain. It’s everywhere now. She is dying. We are all shocked & heartbroken at this awful news. She was told at the start of august she had 6 months to live. Had another hospital appointment 10 days later where she was told she has 12 weeks to live! Now she’s unfortunately in a hospice already and deteriorating very very quickly. Words can’t explain how angry/ sad/ heartbroken I am but right now she needs me now more than she ever has.

Two weeks ago she went to visit a funeral parlour as we need to start making arrangements now. She doesn’t want it to be left to anyone else when she passes she wants to plan it herself. Unfortunately she is really struggling to be paying for it alone. For a basic funeral she has been quoted £5000. She has put so far what she can to it but I won’t lie she’s really struggling as as she doesn’t have anymore. She has just under the £2500 for it so I’m going to put a target up and if we reach over that the rest will go to Nikkis fleurs at meadowbank for nice flowers for her. We think it’s a matter of weeks before she’s taken from us if we’re lucky to even have that and I really really don’t want to see her in a state any longer wondering/panicking how she can have a basic funeral. She deserves the world & more this has really broken me. I’m at such a loss. She deserves the best possible send off.

I know times are seriously tough for everyone in this world right now but please I am asking if you can help at all please can you. Even £5 is something towards giving her what she deserves. I have asked Marion’s permission to do this page & at first she was mortified. Now she’s that weak she has admitted she would like some help if I can possibly get it. This woman has been there for me since I was 2 years old the least I can do is try and get everyone together to try & give her the send off she deserves . I appreciate everyone’s calls & kind messages it really does mean a lot. We just can’t believe we are going to lose her very soon. She really is one of the best who doesn’t deserve this.
