We are kindly asking for help with the funeral and flower costs for by beloved mum and cherished nanny, Lindsay Thomas

Unfortunately, mum was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Amyloidosis, which affects 10 in a million people in the world, mostly men.

Mum was the only female in the UK of her age bracket to have the disease, and the illness put a huge strain on her life, meaning dialysis every other day, limiting her water intake and only being able to eat certain foods, and family days out were rare the more the disease advanced.

This didn't effect her positive outlook on life though, she was one of the funniest and happiest people you could meet, and adored her two daughters, myself and Adele, and the apple of her eye, her lovely granddaughter Raya, who was always spoilt rotten.

I would like to give mum the goodbye she deserves, being the wonderful woman she was, and the rock of our family. She was so brave throughout everything, and was adored by everyone she met and left a lasting impression with everyone.

Any money left over from her funeral raised will go to the Amyloidosis charity to raise awareness and support other families experiencing the same. We will donate her flowers (we are hoping to get artificial arrangements) to a charity that helps arrange funerals to those who need extra support. This is what mum would have wanted.
