My Ballet Career

Hello! My name is Sofia Wolf and I am a dancer at Sedona Dance Academy! I have been dancing since the age of 2 here in Sedona, Arizona experimenting through various styles such as gymnastics, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary and ballet. Throughout the years I’ve grown my love for dance, specifically classical ballet. Through many years of dancing ballet and re finding it after my ballet teacher moved away, I’ve committed to it and am planning on going into a career in ballet. In 2023 I decided to try my first summer intensive at the age of 14 and I chose to audition for Ballet Arizonas course. I got accepted and spent 6 weeks in Phoenix, Arizona training 7 hours a day, 5 days a week over the summer. I had grown tremendously in my skill and that inspired me to work more persistently and harder. I wake up before school every day to attend to my training and conditioning and am very strict on frequently stretching personally. I’ve noticed that the work outside of the studio is what helps the most with improving. I train up to 20 hours a week at my home studio in modern and mainly classical ballet. This past summer I got accepted to the 3 week Russian Master Ballets summer intensive in Alicante, Spain. Going from my first ever intensive in Phoenix to training the next summer in Spain would have blown my mind a year ago. Previous to the Russian Masters Ballet intensive I trained in Russia when visiting family at my aunts studio. And previous to that I revisited training for two weeks at Ballet Arizona. Through these amazing experiences I’ve had, it has inspired me to go out of my comfort zone and to reach for bigger dreams. With persistence and continuing in hard work I will reach for my dreams and try my hardest to achieve them. I hope that through this Go Fund Me you can help me with funds to go towards Pointe shoes, costumes for ballet competitions, and summer intensive training. Through rigorous training I go through about 1 pair of pointe shoes every 2 weeks. That is $140 every two weeks. During summer intensives the lifespan of a pointe shoe is shortened due to more hours danced on them.
