My aunt's house fire incident
Donation protected
On August 25th 2022 my aunt's house caught fire in Westfield, NJ. That house was home for not only my aunt, (Julie Clemens) but her son (Dan Clemens) and my mother (Susan Brand) and 3 dogs. The front of the house was engulfed in flames and the rest of the house suffered severe smoke and water damage. I am beyond thankful that everyone, including the dogs, made it out safely. Though my aunt has insurance, they will still need assistance getting back on their feet. They lost clothing, food, furniture, etc. And sentimental items that simply cannot be replaced.
I am so grateful to the town coming together and offering assistance for my family. My aunt and my mother have been long time Westfield residents and they have done and still do many things to help the community. My mother has had her travel agency business in Westfield for 30+ years.
It's going to be a long road ahead to get life back in order. But we will do it together.
Thank you so much.
