this is a difficult time for everyone, and i dislike asking for help more than any person you will ever know. but right now, i am begging for your help.
my Aunt, Margaret Lisa Hulit, is alone and battling double pneumonia and Covid-19 in a hospital in Sebring Florida. i struggle with sharing this very personal medical emergency because her story is not mine to tell -- however -- yesterday, she was put into a medically induced coma, intubated and put onto a ventilator.
Named as her next of kin, i need your help for my Aunt Margie. i never expected to be making life and death decisions for a family member without any advance notice, that changed with a 4 minute phone call Tuesday morning. there was no time to react. i could hear the terror in her voice as she struggled to breathe thru her tears, telling me only that a nurse and a respiratory therapist were standing next to her ready to sedate her and intubate her so she could be placed on a ventilator.
Many of you will remember her from the "good old days" in Sussex County NJ when she owned MARGIE'S MAGIC -- She's the original balloon lady that decorated your weddings, helped you throw your parties and probably dropped off the balloons your boyfriend/girlfriend sent to you at whichever high school you attended. Others of you may know her as the whip-smart book keeper for various businesses, first in NJ and later in West Palm Beach and now Wachuela, Florida.
Margie was always quick to donate to fund raisers that supported local schools and charities and now she is the one that needs our help. Anything you can contribute would be tremendously appreciated, she is facing many more days on a ventilator as they try to get her lungs ready and able to breathe again on their own.
i am setting up this fundraiser in anticipation of her long range needs which will include weeks of additional hospitalization, potential rehabiltation and/or nursing care and physical therapy after her induced coma has ended and she is off the ventilator. additionally there will be issues with her living situation that i am trying to get ahead of which will include paying her rent, maintaining her blue cross/blue shield coverage and any other bills that might not be anticipated.
