My amazing Dad ❤️ The Mind & The Glen Corner Trust
Donation protected
hi , I’m Katie I will be running The great north run on 8th of September , raising money for 2 special charities and splitting the total between each of the ‘the mind’ and ‘the Glen corner trust’ . I do this every year as many of yous may know and I will continue to do so!
Back in September 2017 my Dad took his own life. And life has never been the same after loosing my absolute best friend. It just shows how much mental health can take over someone to the point they feel nothing but loneliness inside to feel the need they no longer want to be here.. it is absolutely heartbreaking to know how thoughts can take over us. Mental health is such a massive thing and it’s so important that we help others through their darkest times and they receive the support and help they need as I know myself how lonely things can get. This charity is so close to my heart and I would appreciate any support. It breaks me that my dad felt so low and is no longer here today. Therefore I will be raising money for ‘Mind’ to help other people who went through what my dad did get through those dark times getting the support they need and deserve. Another charity I’m going to be raising money for is ‘The Glen Corner Trust’ , this charity was extremely close to my dad’s heart, he always every year raised money for this charity. This charity supports victims of knife crime. In memory of glen corner, who’s life was taken by some coward after trying to defend his friend after being threatened.. Glen was celebrating his 16th birthday and received his exam results passing. Knives really do ruin lives and people can be so cruel. Glens family now want to support other families experiencing the same devastation. Therefore I will be raising money for this amazing charity too both close to mine and my dads hearts. I’ll be splitting the money raised between these 2 charities. This run takes place on Sunday 8th September. Every year without fail my dad ran the great north run , his favourite run of the year his ‘baby’ this is a run which is very close to our family and always will be. He done it 14 times as well as running 2 marathons and qualified good for age to run london marathon, however never got to run this. The year he died he ran his fastest ever great north run time which his goal was to get sub 90 and he absolutely smashed it and got 1:28:27❤️ Thank you for any support in advance ❤️
