Hi, my name is Carmen I am 30 years old.

I am setting up this page to raise money for my Dads funeral who unfortunately passed away on Thursday 26th June in intensive care. My Dad Allan Simonds has been battling lung cancer since October where he underwent intensive chemo and radiotherapy for two months in December and January. That all went well and my Dad was happy with the progress. My Dad always told me that he is happy how he can eat better and have more energy. A few weeks after his treatment in January my Dad started collapsing and was very weak. We returned to the hospital only to unfortunately find out he has 5 brain tumours. He underwent radiotherapy with a mask to try and shrink them.

2 weeks ago my Dad suddenly answered the front door at home and collapsed on the sofa. He could not breathe well and could not speak. We dialled 999. My Dad was very poorly he was put into a coma and was in intensive care for 11 days. They were treating my Dad for an infection. He battled hard in there. However on the 11th night my dad declined. We were absolutely distraught to discover there was nothing more that ICU could do.

My Dad passed away peacefully in front of me and all of my other 6 brothers and sisters in intensive care. It was the hardest part to see. We were all with you every step of the way Dad we all love you dearly.

We all miss Dad so much, he was a top Dad. An intelligent , unique and bubbly man, passionate Portsmouth fan -he always had time for others and always put others before himself.

My Dad was happily married to my Mum for over 40 years. They had 7 children together, and are proud grandparents of 9 grandchildren with a 10th grandchild due in September.

My Dad was only 61 years young.

I wanted to share this story with you to politely ask for any donations (any amount would be appreciated). This will go towards funding my Dads funeral to give him the special send off he deserves. ❤️
