help my 5yr old cat Ben get a CT scan

Hi, my name's Cristi and I've started this go fund me for my soul mate Ben. He's a 5 year old DSH that I rescued 2.5 years ago. Coming out of a DV relationship, I decided to rescue a cat for companionship. He is the most beautiful sweet natured boy. The longest residence at the shelter when I visited. I looked at him, put my hand out, which he slowly head bumped, and from there on I knew I had to take him home. He has been there through my healing journey, my bad days with mental health issues. I may have rescued him, but more so, he has definitely rescued me.

About a month ago, I noticed Ben started sneezing, and would wink occasionally in his left eye. I figured he had allergies being summer time and living in a rural area. A week or so went by and he started to get some swelling on his nasal bridge, between his eyes. I took him to the vet which they diagnosed him with an upper respiratory infection. We got sent home with antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds. All was good for a week or so, until it started happening again. This time, very quickly, a lump had popped up above his left eye. Fearing the worst, we went back to the vet. He was put under and they drew some fluids out to test. Abnormal cells. They then did a biopsy, which took almost 2 weeks for results (longest wait to find out if it was cancerous), I received a phone call yesterday 21/2/25 stating it wasn't cancer.....good news. During that time, he had complications after surgery and stopped eating and drinking. Another vet visit and he come good. As of a few days ago, he's started to get very mucousy and lethargic, not eating or drinking again. I took him to the vet today 22/2, he's now back on antibiotics, but is needing CT imaging to determine the cause, and to be able to properly treat it.

I am only working casual currently, and am not getting many hours. I have had to use VetPay for prior appointments, surgery, and medications. Unfortunately due to my working circumstances, I cannot borrow more.

A CT scan is going to cost another roughly $1500-$2000. I didn't act quick enough for pet insurance, being that he's young, healthy, and an indoor cat. Now I cannot get it as they don't cover existing illnesses.

I absolutely despise asking/borrowing money, but I've come to the point now where it's my only option.

He is my best friend, I'm not ready emotionally to lose another pet due to illness, and I would sincerely appreciate any help financially. It would mean the world to see my Benny boy overcome this and live many more years with me.
