2020, wow. My furniture business went belly up due to COVID and the economic uncertainty it spurned, and I spent much of the 1st lockdown wondering what debt to pay and what to let go and which bankruptcy lawyer to call for that fabulous 1st. mtg. Fortunately, that got easier by the 2nd lockdown, I just let all the debt go and I think I've found my lawyer...god bless the little things.
So 2020 sucked in many ways, but like all tough times in my life, I found that this year was less of a tough year and more of a beautiful gift. I feel more focused as the year draws to its end, lighter, more comfortable in my skin. Less afraid. I've been told more than a time or two in my life that pain is the cornerstone of all change. This year changed me and I'm certain it was for the better. And it's a given that I'll be ok whatever the future holds.
Plus, without any furniture to build, without anywhere to go and only a handful of people to see, I poured myself into the recording of my 3rd album, "The Rest of The Way"! It's set for release December 15th. Here's the first single off the album, "I May Never Know"...
Whatever you'd like to donate will get you a download or a CD, that's a no brainer, but if I raise over $5000 there will be an option for a vinyl copy. And since I'm a woodworker, you might get a killer coffee table or cutting board along with your copy of the album (And I'll ship it to you). And...hell, since I don't have a job, I just might come to your house and sing for my dinner (after the plague, of course). Here are the tiers of/gifts for donating:
- Any donation gets you a download of the album.
-$10 or more gets you a download and an option for a CD.
-$100 or more will get you the above plus the option for vinyl (If I raise over $5000).
-$500 and up gets you all of the above and a link to a stripped down solo performance by me, featuring songs from all three of my albums. Plus, I'll send you downloads of my first two albums, if you don't have them.
-$750 gets you all of the above and a custom made, hand oiled cutting or cheese board.
-$1000 or more gets you all of the above and I will give a live virtual performance with accompaniment zapped straight onto your screen.
- $2000 gets you all of the above, and seriously, a custom built coffee table (We'll discuss wood options together, and I will ship to you free, anywhere in the United States).
-$3,000 gets you all of the above and I will come to you and give a solo performance. Invite friends, have a party, my guitar and I will be there. After the plague, of course.
Whatever you donate, I will be grateful until the end. 2020 sure as hell felt like the end a time or two. But it's not, y'all assured me it wasn't.
