My 36-year-old son Jacob Raby has recently been diagnosed with a soft tissue, left shoulder mass that is a high grade myxoid and spindle tumor that has grown to almost 3 1/2" in 4 months. 

Today he has been in surgery for 5 hours so far, and we are all waiting on pins and needles for the surgeon’s observations, and the ensuing follow up radiation imaging hoping it has not metastasized.

Jake has run on tough times and has been laid off from his $20/Hr. job in the greater Grants Pass area due to the COVID-19, and was struggling to make ends meet before this cancer hit. His 16-year-old daughter (my granddaughter) lives in Grants Pass, and to be close to her in his disabled mode is causing great hardship. His mother and I have made certain he has a comfortable and clean place to live without the worry of paying rent he doesn’t have. His oncologist (one of few specializing in this rare cancer) is located 5 or 6 hours away in Portland. Add to that he only has an incredibly old truck that is a crap shoot driving 20 miles to Grants Pass let alone on a 6-hour road trip to Portland.

For him to dependably drive to his upcoming treatments, appointments and hold my granddaughter tight, he needs a dependable vehicle. I want to buy him a 2020 Hyundai Sonata but myself living in California, I am unable to finance it in Oregon and register it to someone else. I don’t have the $15,000 + cash to buy it outright so I thought I would appeal to the truly kind hearts of the world.

I will match every dollar donated up to $7,500 as that’s all the cash I currently have on hand. From my heart, any help would be appreciated beyond words, and provide a big hand up to a very deserving young man, at an exceedingly difficult time.
