Greetings,
My name is Alex Eisen...Teacher, Marathon Runner, Singer, and Writer. On April 21st I will be celebrating my 30th birthday. While this is a milestone year, it has now taken on a whole new level of meaning and importance to me.
On my 30th birthday I will be running 30 miles to raise money for the NYU Langone Healthcare System in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus pandemic. As a resident of Mineola, home to NYU Winthrop Hospital, the Langone family has a special place in my heart. I have run 11 marathons in 10 states including 2 NYC Marathons...Yet this will be my LONGEST and most IMPORTANT run in my life. On my 30th Birthday...I am running to do my part in New York's battle with COVID-19...I am running for our doctors, nurses, first responders and healthcare providers on the front lines...I am running to save lives.
As an added bonus, my 30th Birthday Marathon will continue when the sun goes down. At 7pm I invite you, your family, and friends to join me on my YouTube channel for a performance of song selections to continue my Birthday Mission to Aid New York's battle with COVID-19. I will be singing a repertoire of songs.
Running and singing have helped me to relieve stress and anxiety, while bringing me comfort and joy. I am now determined to use running and singing for much needed support, comfort, and joy to those on our front lines in this COVID-19 pandemic.
If you feel motivated to donate any amount, no matter the size, please do. Your gift would mean so much to me, and even more to the Langone family. This money will go towards purchasing personal protection equipment (surgical masks, gowns, booties, plastic shields). In addition to any other essential equipment such as ventilators and resources for the purpose of keeping the medical staff and first responders safe at this critical time.
