Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA), and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about the Cleft Lip and Palate Association: The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) has been the only national charity dedicated to all those affected by cleft lip and/or palate in the UK. They reach out to families from the moment of diagnosis and help them through any difficulties they have before and after the birth of their child by providing a specialist feeding service, targeted information, and a national network of trained volunteers offering lifelong one-to-one emotional support and online events.
My Story:
My connection to CLAPA is deeply personal. I was born with a cleft palate, a condition that, unfortunately, wasn't diagnosed at birth. This meant I faced a unique set of challenges growing up. I underwent two palate repair surgeries at the ages of 8 and 11, and I've recently returned to adult cleft care.
This experience has driven me to raise awareness about cleft lip and palate and the vital work CLAPA does. That's why I'm taking on the challenge of running three 10Ks in three months, in Lincoln, Boston, and Peterborough. My goal is to raise funds and awareness, with the hope that children born with clefts receive timely access to the correct NHS services from birth. By supporting CLAPA, you're helping ensure that other families have access to the support and resources they need from the very beginning. Please join me in making a difference!
