My 20 year old grandson Lennis Penn Jr.

Hi, my name is Erica Brown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As hard as this is for my family and I to have to ask for assistance, this is no time for pride. My 20 year old grandson Lennis Penn Jr. that his family affectionately calls "CHUNK" went home to be with God on this past Monday, March 13, 2023. He was in a fetal head on collision with a vehicle while riding his dirt bike in Texas; where he was currently living and working Chunk was so young, full of life, and love. I know we have a long road ahead of us but the hardest and most important part for my daughter and I at this moment is to get his remains back to Baton Rouge so his family and friends can celebrate his life and he can be laid to rest in his home town and we can visit as often as we'd like because we miss him so much already and my daughter just wants to be able to get to him even if it's at the morgue. The cost to transport his remains home from Texas is $2,500.00.

Getting him home is only the beginning because once he's here we have to make it through the hardest part which is the planning and attendance of the funeral which costs approximately $10,000.00 for even the basic fees. My daughter has 2 other children that are taking this very hard because this was their baby brother. She also helps with her 3 grand kids. Things are so expensive that even though we usually don't ask for help, we just really need in this time .... His death was sooooo unexpected and we're just trying to do the best we can to lay "Granna" baby to rest sooner than later so we can all try and begin the healing process.
