Help Oscar Walk Again
My Best friend/Roommate Amanda's 6-year-old dachshund, Oscar, suddenly lost the use of his back legs Saturday night 11-8-25. From what vets said is IVDD, a spinal condition common in wiener dogs. He needed an urgent MRI ($7,155) and had an emergency back surgery on Sunday that cost another ($14,000).
HE FINALLY CAME HOME!...For the next 4-6 weeks he has to have strict crate rest, med, and still doesn't have the use of his legs. Amanda is having to leave work to check on him during the day and we are doing our best to help and keep an eye on him, give him his meds, and since he can only drag himself, we are going through towels and blankets like toilet paper cleaning him up when he goes pee or poop...on himself
Oscar is family — he’s always happy, always burrowing under blankets, ripping indestructible toys to shreds and spreading joy by barking at everything!!!
Watching him struggle to move has been pretty rough, to say the least, but we’re determined to give him a chance to walk again.
It's hard to ask for help, but seeing them suffer is even harder.
Please help if you can!! The cost of the surgery is more than she can bare alone and interest on the funds acquired to make this happen are as insane as the cost to do it!— every share and donation truly helps. ❤️
