I really hate to do this, especially because friends have helped us already recently and I thought everything would be much more simple than it’s become.
Prior to moving cross country, Raiden was experiencing severe problems with an infection in his ear, causing severe irritation and bleeding, and a growth which disappeared the same week he was scheduled for a medical appointment. All was well for a short period of time, but then blood patterns started appearing on the floor and furniture. A friend finally noticed they were coming from his private areas while he was resting.
Shortly after, Raiden started exhibiting signs of extreme pain, including some of the most harrowing howls of pain I’ve heard from an animal. We started another medical assistance process here in Washington. I was told to bring him back on sedatives because they couldn’t give him the proper tests without risking dangerous laceration of organs. Anyone who knows Raiden knows he is a fighter, and has subsequently fought through all the legal and safe amounts of sedatives to administer said tests and the several vets he’s seen were concerned with if it was safe or not. Therefore, we’ve treated him for something that at the time seemed to briefly help, although within the last week his health has relapsed and if anything gotten worse.
im summarizing this quite a bit and sparing some of the more graphic and gross details regarding his excrements etc. He has on and off exhibited a more-than-concerning amount of pain. He did seem to improve for a week or so- but that has gotten worse again. I’ve had to take a considerable amount of time off work to care for him, and am at the unfortunate point where I need to consult multiple different professionals in the upcoming week(s), renew his current medications, and likely buy additional medications.
I’m at a complete loss as to what to do at this point; especially since his improvement faded so rapidly so recently. I no longer can play the guessing game as I’m extremely concerned that he may be at serious risk right now. There’s no telling how much each visit, medication, etc will cost; and that’s even if they can diagnose him. We’ve essentially been told to “see how it goes” every time and it’s become overly concerning. I unfortunately need to seek out the opinions of multiple professionals in multiple locations before someone can finally figure out what’s going on, and the frequent current visits and medication costs have run me dry trying to do so.
Anything helps. He’s the sweetest boy, he’s only 8, has never had any serious medical problems until this year and I just can’t lose him. Again, I hate to resort to this, but my heart is breaking that I can no longer afford this battle.
