Ava's Girlguiding Trip to Croatia

Hello! I am Ava. I am a Girl Guide member with Dovedale Unit, Girlguiding 283rd Liverpool County.

I am proud and very fortunate to have been selected as a representative of Girlguiding North West England, to be a member of a group going to Croatia in summer 2025. We will be working on a project to help clean up Croatia’s oceans as they are polluted . We are volunteering with an organisation called Maritimo Recycling. This is a great project that turns ocean plastic into jewellery and sunglasses. I really care about the environment and our world so I would greatly appreciate any help.

Whilst I am in Croatia, I shall face many new and demanding challenges, have many unique experiences and live and participate in activities with members of Girlguiding from many countries who are of different cultures and faiths. It will also be an opportunity for me to develop many life and personal skills, to share my knowledge and skills with others and to make international friends.

To experience an international trip to another country is a wonderful, and possibly once in a lifetime, opportunity for me as a member of the largest organisation for girls and young women in the UK and as a member of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) which is a worldwide movement of 10 million girls, young women and adult leaders in 145 countries.

For this wonderful opportunity, I have to raise £1,500. I would be extremely grateful if you would be able to offer any financial assistance to help me with my fundraising. Following my visit, I would happily make a report or give a talk about my experiences in Croatia.
