Help Gary Beat Cancer!

We rescued Gary 3.5 years ago from a shelter when he was 4 years old and he has changed our lives forever! Gary is the absolute best animal either of us has ever known. He is such a sweet boy and loves everyone he meets. He has brought nothing but absolute joy to our lives. Sadly, we found out last week that Gary has a mass on his pancreas and after a biopsy it was revealed that he has lymphoma. We are devastated as he is only 7 years old and has so much more life in him! 


Thankfully, there are treatment options for Gary including chemotherapy which can extend his life by a year and beyond if he takes well to the treatment. For the first time we finally felt hopeful! The cost of this treatment is expensive but we feel strongly about giving Gary the best chance at life possible. The great news is that cats tolerate chemo incredibly well and do not have the same side effects experienced in humans. We would not consider chemo for Gary if it would diminish his quality of life, as that is what is most important to us. We have been reassured that 90% of cats have no side effects and this treatment will only extend and improve their quality of life. Due to Gary's young age and his spritely attitude - we feel giving him treatment and a chance at life is the only way to go!



Anything you can donate at all would be so appreciated as the financial burden of the treatment is difficult. We will make sure to tell Gary directly about all of his donors! We begin treatments next week and I will post periodic updates on Gary as well.
