For the past 17 days, Willie has fought the toughest fight ever. Tonight Willie last that fight at around 6:45.

Willie, 2 weeks ago was admitted to Piedmont Montainside. At that time, it was determined he had a severe infection of some type compromising his respiratory system. The following Monday, he was sedated and placed on a ventilator. His condition was not improving and the following Friday, he was transferred to Piedmont Atlanta where he has now been for 10 days now and counting. Willie is suffering from 2 of the worst bacterial infections man can have with the odds of survival against him. He has fungus present in his lungs. He remains on the ventilator (14 days now). His lungs and cardiovascular system have both failed. Thursday his right lung collasped and also he was placed on bed side dialysis to help maintain kidney function. 2 days ago his left lung collapsed. Chest tubes have been placed for the lungs and he is maintaining. And as of yesterday....he is still critical with no improvement. Willie has basically lost the ability to fight this bacterial infection...it is now up to the prayers, medicine, Doctors, and GOD's will to pull him through this.
Additionally, we have been contacted a lot by folks alreay wanting to donate financial help. We have established the "Willie Prather" benefit account at United Community Bank. So if you prefer to drop it off in person please go by the bank. If you prefer to do it in your home or where ever, We have now set this Go Fund Me up for the convenience of others that can't get out but want to help out.
