Fire Fundraiser for Steve McDermott Condo Fire
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard, my uncle Steve McDermott has been displaced from his home just days before Christmas after having a serious fire rip through his condo building Friday evening downtown Calgary. The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. in a building near 14th Street and 23rd Avenue S.W. Fire investigators are still working to confirm the source of the fire as the entire condominium went blaze.
Due to steves condo being on the top floor, he has lost absolutely everything including pictures, paintings, clothes, furniture, and antiques. My aunt, Elaine Zotter, has also lost many valuables including pictures and her grandfathers pewter. Thankfully our dear friend and family member is still alive and was able to get out just in time.
As we all know, Steve and Elaine are both the most loving, humble, compassionate and generous people we all know. They would never complain or ask a soul for a single thing. I think it's about time we come together and raise money to help them during these tough times so they can work on getting their feet back on the ground. I know they wouldn't want us giving anything but they deserve it... especially just days before Christmas. Even a couple dollars donation would mean the world. Shopping for socks and underwear on Christmas is not something someone should ever have to do.
Our family thanks you. We all love you Steve!
