Help Us Save Zuko

Hi everyone, this is Zuko. We found him on the Rutgers campus with his tiny body covered with raw wounds. The vet said he was likely looking to stay warm in a car engine when someone unknowingly turned it on.

We called every shelter and rescue we could find, but everyone was too full or overwhelmed to take him in. Our only option was animal control, which meant he would most likely be euthanized. Each call left us in tears; how could that be the only choice for a cat who was otherwise healthy and still so full of love?

That's when we made a promise to ensure Zuko wouldn't die that way. We pooled every bit of money we had, from our paychecks, savings, even what we could spare from rent to rush him to the vet. He had severe burns across his back and sides, and it has been heartbreaking watching him go through treatments and bandage changes. Through it all, however, he has not stopped purring and continues to greet us every day with love and thanks.

Zuko is now on his journey to recovery, but his vet bills are piling up and as college students, we have stretched ourselves as far as we can. We're asking for help, not for us but for Zuko. Every little bit means the world. Just a few dollars helps us cover his care, medicine, and the chance to keep him safe as he recovers.
