New Beginnings After the War: Rebuilding Hope for Yafa
Donation protected
We are A'laa and Muhammad, and we are writing to you today with a heart full of hope, despite the overwhelming challenges that have come our way. Just a few months ago, we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby girl, Yafa, dreaming of the life we would build together in our home in Gaza. But life, as we knew it, changed on October 7, and those dreams were shattered.
I can still hear the laughter that once filled those rooms, the echo of our hopes and dreams now lost in the silence.
War descended upon us, leaving destruction in its wake. The home we had poured our hearts into, where we envisioned raising our daughter, is now nothing but rubble and ash. In one night, everything we had worked so hard for was taken away. But the most painful loss wasn’t the bricks and mortar—it was the sense of safety and stability for my little girl.
And this is what left of our Home NOW!

They burned it for no reason, and burned our hearts with it.

In the midst of this chaos, Yafa was born—a precious light in a time of darkness. Holding her for the first time, I was filled with a love so fierce, it gave me the strength to keep going, even when I felt like giving up. She’s my reason for everything, my hope for the future.
On December 3, 2023, 10 days after she born, Yafa became the youngest displaced child. It was 3 AM when they forced us to leave our home under a heavy gunfire, we could barely save ourselves and our baby.

For 309 days now, we have seen death of all types, I can't list them all here, we've lost a family members, we’ve lived through all the horrible things that are beyond any comprehension and imagination, starting from being subjected to constant bombing and air strikes all day and night and now reaching a total deprivation of the very basic needs of every living thing, such as food and water.
This is my little baby Yafa now! She becomes 9 month of war. By your donation you could give us hope to continue and planning her future!

This bullet penetrated our tent and almost killed us! Surviving death in the shadow of war is difficult!

We’re now without a home, and I’ve lost my job due to the ongoing conflict. The dreams I had for Yafa—a safe place to grow, a warm bed to sleep in, a life free from fear—feel so far out of reach. But I refuse to give up. I refuse to let this be the end of our story.

I’m turning to you, to anyone who reads this, with a plea from one parent to another, from one human being to another: Please help us rebuild. The funds from this campaign will be used to find a new place we can call home, to provide Yafa with the basic necessities every child deserves, and to start over from the ground up.
This isn’t just about money—it’s about restoring hope, about showing Yafa that even in the darkest times, kindness and love still exist in the world. Every donation, no matter the size, is a step towards a future where she can grow up knowing that good people came together to help us when we needed it most.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with others can also make a huge difference. Your support, in any form, means more than words can express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing with us in this difficult time.
With all my love and gratitude,
A'laa, Muhammad & Baby Yafa
