Road to Recovery

Eva is a single mother of 3. She is a cashier at Clayton Food Mart of Clayton, Michigan. She was a former resident of Fayette, Ohio for around 15 years. On the evening of January 21st, while working her 2nd shift at Clayton Corners, a driver under the influence drove through the store striking Eva as she stood at the cash register. Eva is suffering injuries to her lower abdomen, she was rushed to Henry Ford Allegiance in Jackson, Mi. Upon arrival she was rushed into emergency surgery, after CAT scans and x-rays showed internal bleeding and a perforated bowel leaving her subject to sepsis.  Surgery was 2 and a half hours and she is currently on a ventilator & a neck brace & multiple antibiotics to subdue the infection and risk of any more infections. After surgery we received the news they removed 12 inches of her bowel and got her internal bleeding under control. On January 23rd she will undergo another surgery to reattach her bowel and do another exploratory exam to check for any further bleeding and complications.  Unfortunately Eva does not have health insurance and as a single mother of 3 is responsible to take care of her household. We as her family are asking for your help to help her maintain her unexpected medical expenses and household bills  as we do not know how long her road of recovery will be. We do not have answers to how long she will not be able to return to work, and it’s very important that she doesn’t lose anymore than what she already has. We do fully appreciate the out reach we have, and every little bit helps. If you cannot donate money we understand, we ask that you send prayers and positivity as we know that Eva will have a long road ahead of her.
