South Africa Mission Trip

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

I have been blessed with the opportunity to join a team of 9 others on a mission to South Africa this July.  We will be serving the poverty stricken people of the Xhosa culture in the township of Cambridge.   The Xhosa people have become increasingly more impoverished as they still struggle to recover from the devastating blow of the European invasion in the 1820's.  Their resources and rights were stripped from them as they were persecuted and segregated by the apartheid (a government policy requiring the separation of races).  Like many impoverished third world countries, the people of Cambridge are victims of poor circumstances and desperately in need of basic resources (food, clothing, shelter) and their God given right of love and empowerment.

Our 10-day journey will be spent efficiently in order to make the most impact as possible on this community.  Days will be spent in a community church where we will train leaders for a vacation bible school like program.  Implementing this program will provide the children a safe place to be filled with Gods word, some hunger relief, and the love they so deserve.  Our evenings will be spent in a safe house; a safe haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected children and babies.  We will also be serving their safe house in anyway possible such as: construction repairs and maintenance to their humble structure.

I feel very passionate that I have been called specifically for this trip.  However, I cannot do this alone and I need YOUR support in very specific ways.  Most importantly, I need support through prayer.  Prayer for safe travels and peace during the 25-hour journey to East London, SA.  Prayer that our team will be able to impact and nourish the township of Cambridge physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Secondly, I need financial support.  My goal is $3,100 that will provide my flight, transportation, and hotel accommodations while in South Africa.  As cliché as it sounds, every little bit helps.

If you would like to know more about this adventure, would like to support the group and I, or the people of Cambridge in a more personal, creative way; feel free to contact me.  I would love to hear from you!
