MWSU Debate Nationals

Eric Greitens was recently elected the 56th Governor of Missouri. One of his first decisions once in power, was to cut education funding statewide. Across the board, 9% of the Missouri Western's budget was cut. A big chunk of the Speech & Debate Team's budget was cut. Now, many of our teams will be unable to attend Nationals. Our Public Forum team will be unable to compete at Nationals, which are held in Maryville, Missouri. (Only 45 minutes away from MWSU's campus.) Likewise, a portion of the Parliamentary Debate teams will be unable to attend nationals, which are held in Colorado. Budget cuts to a school always hurts, but it is our civic duty to band together and show the governor it is not okay to take away from Missouri Schools. Student debt is at an all time high, and hurting the future of our state is unacceptable. Your donation is appreciated, as well is your time. Thank you.
