Earlier this year, our friend Tara was diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency. This diagnosis is an immune system disorder that causes her to have low levels of the proteins that help fight infections putting her at greater risk of becoming ill and fighting illness. The proven course of treatment for this diagnosis is monthly IVIg therapy treatments. IVIg therapy will give her the antibodies that her body is not making on its own enabling her to fight off infections. These treatments will allow her to get back to living her life.

Unfortunately this treatment, although life saving,  is costly even after insurance coverage.  Because Tara has not been able to start her life saving treatment, she has been confined to her home, in order to prevent coming in contact with any infections. This treatment has immediate effects, after her first therapy treatment she will be able to return to her normal personal and work life.

She is strong, compassionate, kind, and welcoming. Always ready to help out or to pick you up with a great laugh. She works tirelessly to help all of the youth and families in need through her work.
