My name is Amber Webster and I've been a resident of the Sunshine Coast BC for over 10 years now. During my first years here, I created a small meal prep business called

Cook For You. I focused on preparing nutritious & delicious meals in

small batches, always made with lots of love. In 2020 at the start of Covid, Harmony Hall Seniors Center based in Gibsons, asked me to bring my culinary skills into their kitchen and my small business quickly grew and evolved into a

"Meals On Wheels" type service

that delivered many meals to our

vulnerable Senior community

members. Sadly last year, Harmony Hall decided to move in a different direction with their kitchen and asked me to leave. It was honestly a punch in the gut as I had put my heart and soul into creating and running my business. It was my everything. My business was also a huge support to our community and many people were affected by the decision of termination. Vancouver Coastal Health along with many others, wrote letters in support for me to stay there. Unfortunately the Hall had already made up their minds.

I spent many exhausting hours and many different avenues trying to continue my service & unfortunately finding an affordable commercial kitchen became a huge road block and I was running out of time & money. Unfortunately last year when this all happened it took quite some time for me to get back on my feet and some debt was acquired. I now find myself on an entirely different path. I'm in school full time studying to be a Professional Counselor with Rhodes Wellness College. I also work in the afternoons/evenings cleaning and organizing for a few clients and sometimes I assist Seniors getting to and from their medical appointments.

HOWEVER. I'd really like to start up some meal prep again on a much smaller scale, to help pay some of my debt down and to help contribute to my living costs. My Student Loan is barely enough to live on, hence why I am asking for your support.

I'm asking for donations towards a new freezer and some small wares to get me going. The space I have to work with is very small & I need a particular size & style of freezer to make this work efficiently. I have done much research and have found the perfect freezer and now I just need the funds.

For those who know me, know that I've worked so very hard in my life. Since I was 15 years old in fact! I rarely ask for any kind of support...but today I am asking. I understand it's challenging times for many. If you are able to, any little bit of contribution would be so greatly appreciated
