MW is collecting donations that will be distributed to the employees who have sustained losses. The funds will be totally distributed to MW employees and MW Industries will pay the administrative and service charges to GoFundMe so that every dollar contributed will go to our employees who are victims of the flooding.
Decisions regarding distribution of the donated funds will be jointly made by the management teams in the Houston plants. If there is any money left over after the employees have been assisted (unlikely) it will be donated to the American Red Cross.
Your donations will be deposited in a separate checking account, in my name, that has been established specifically for this purpose. Once payments have been approved by the local managers, a check will be cut from this account and sent to the recipient. Dave Franckowiak, MW's VP Finance & Corporate Controller, will audit the disbursement of funds to verify that all proceeds go to storm victims.
Since this is not a registered charitable organization, your contributions may not be deductible on your income taxes. That being said, you will still be providing much needed support to our employees.
We appreciate any assistance you can give.
