Where can I begin...? Many of you have known this family for as long as you can remember familiar Bastrop faces! From the soccer fields, when their children were small, to Subway and GNC days with Cendy and UT MDA Days and also the gym, with Tim....they have been pieces of everything, over the last decade or more.
Life turned tough, late in 2011 when Tim lost his mother. This was the beginning of what would be several years of pretty significant misfortune for this precious couple. Cendy lost her father in November 2011 and just 9 months later also lost her mother. In the process of trying to handle all of this, as an only child, Tim and Cendy were blind-sided with the awful news that Tim was carrying Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Liver. By the time they found this, it was already metastatic to several other areas, thus leaving him with a very grim prognosis. Not only was he dealing with cancer, he was also (almost simutaneously) diagnosed with congestive heart failure, being dubbed with a "Carcinoid Heart". The last place two people want to find themselves, with awful things going on, is in a financial bind. Sadly, Tim and Cendy have taken care of everyone around them, no matter the cost, leaving them in a pretty bad spot. After losing their home, their vehicle, and even parts of their insurance, they have finally agreed to let me ask for help, on their behalf. Tim is still fighting for his life and is also currently in End Stage Renal Failure. He requires constant care, and even though severely disabled herself, Cendy provides care for him around the clock. Although it is never easy to accept help, this couple deserves every bit that I know will be showered-out, over them. I cannot think of a time when they have not been willing to do the same, for each and every person, in need, around them. Although their living situation has changed, they are again at risk of losing their home. They are also facing losing their only vehicle, and have also just been notified that losing Tim's insurance is also a possibility. These are urgent needs that need to be met....not luxuries or comfort wants. Time is of the essence and now is the time, if you feel led, to help these precious people.
