Fighting Sickle Cell Disease, Jefferson Style!

Four of the five Jefferson children were born with sickle cell anemia, and the family spends a good deal of time fighting for their lives at the Randall Children's Hospital in North Portland.
Sickle cell anemia can be a cruel disease. There's chronic pain, and 16 year old Damina Jefferson says she sometimes feels as though she's being punched in the chest. Managing the blood disorder requires frequent treatments, transfusions and surgeries , and there's often a new crisis right around the corner for her or her siblings..

Mother Rolunda Fulmer spends most of her time at Randall Children's Hospital, managing care and crises. Her strength and commitment does not go unnoticed by the staff at Randall, and the family has been featured on KPTV News. (link below).

It has proven very, very difficult to hold down a job while managing her childrens' illnesses. Please join us in supporting this amazing family. If you can, please donate. If you can't, please support them by sharing their story.
