Monday March 21, 2016 Robyne St. Claire Barnes was involved in a tragic accident which took her life at age 20. She was finishing her freshman year at NC Wesleyan in Rocky Mount. We will treasurer memories of Robyne forever. Northeaset Academy class of 2002 started this fund to help Robyne's mother Lori, sister LeAnne and brother LJ with these difficult times ahead as they grieve.
We would like to share a few words from a former teacher of Robynes, "She was a hard-working student and contributed her all to the sports which she loved. Tennis, basketball and softball. She was kind and very considerate of others. Everyone loved her. Her fellow students, the faculty and coaches all loved her and had great respect for her." And from a former coach, "Never had a disparaging word to say. Just tried to do what you asked her to. Who could ask for any better? As she grew from that quiet kid who was taller than everybody else into a young lady, she gained two awesome traits that I noticed. First, she was willing to help anybody, and I do mean anybody...that she could. She would hang around after her practices to help younger players anytime they needed it. And the second thing...she was funny. This girl had a dry wit that could keep you in stitches."
We ask that you contribute as little or as much as you can and Mrs. Barnes will have access to the money as the Beneficary. We would like to note there is another fund being taken up as well for those who would like to contribute that way, The Robyn Barnes Memorial Fund, Conway Baptist Church, Conway, NC 27820.
Lastly, scripture provided by Rev. Willie McLawhorn, "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," Ephesians 4:1-2 NKJV.
