Annie is only two years old, but she has already overcome more challenges than most of us face in a lifetime.
Annie is a French Bulldog rescue who was born paralyzed in her back legs. At birth, her future looked uncertain, and euthanasia was suggested. Instead, a compassionate nurse chose hope. Through love, dedication, and countless hours of physical therapy, Annie was given a chance at life. That chance changed everything.
Annie later entered a foster home with the Administrator of Cypress Creek Assisted Living Residence — someone who, for many years, has worked closely with local rescues to foster, rehabilitate, and adopt animals in need. After pouring time, energy, and personal finances into caring for countless animals over the years, her family knew Annie wasn’t just another foster. Annie had found her forever home.
But Annie didn’t just find a family — she found a purpose.
Today, Annie “works” at Cypress Creek Assisted Living Residence, where she proudly greets everyone who walks through the door (often charging them with joyful enthusiasm). Her presence brings laughter, comfort, and companionship to residents and guests alike. She has become a beloved furry coworker, a source of smiles, and a daily reminder of resilience and unconditional love.
Sadly, Annie is now facing another heartbreaking challenge — one that threatens to take away the world she has fought so hard to experience.
At just two years old, Annie is going blind due to cataracts — a condition that can affect her breed and causes the lenses of the eyes to become cloudy, making it increasingly difficult to see. Without surgery, her vision loss will continue. With surgery, there is real hope that Annie’s sight can be significantly restored — allowing her to continue greeting familiar faces, navigating her world with confidence, and bringing joy to everyone she meets.
The surgery Annie needs is both urgent and costly — but it is also a surgery that offers hope. The total expense is estimated to be close to $8,000.
While Annie’s family has never hesitated to step up for animals in need, this unexpected medical crisis is more than they can manage alone. That’s why we are reaching out — with humility and hope — asking for help from this community and beyond.
Annie has already beaten the odds once. She went from a paralyzed puppy with no clear future to a joyful, determined little dog who brings comfort to seniors and happiness to everyone she meets.
Now, she needs us.
Every donation — no matter the size — will go directly toward Annie’s surgery and medical care. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Annie’s story means more than you know.
Together, we can help Annie keep seeing the world she worked so hard to be part of.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for believing in second chances.
