Hi, I'm Aidel Hawkins (she/they), and I’m reaching out with an urgent request. I’m currently behind on my school tuition and facing a serious deadline. Currently I owe Wayne State $6,500, which is a collective balance from the Fall and Winter semester. With my financial circumstances, I have only been able to pay enough to get me registered for each of those semesters. While I've attempted to make payments on this balance, the small payments barely make a dent in the total cost. Each semester I am faced with the burden of finding a way to finance my education.
The only option for a payment plan that WSU offers is 4 payments of $1,650, with the first installment due on May 30th. I will have to pay $1,650 (on top of my bills and life expenses) every month until August in order to register for the upcoming semester.
If I can't pay the $1,650 by tomorrow, my balance will be sent to collections, who adds an additional 21% interest on the amount due, they offer no payment plan options and the balance will have to be paid in full before I can go back to school.
In the fall I will be in my final semester, and I’m doing my best to stay enrolled and catch up, but it has taken everything. I've been saving for the first payment, but it will have take everything I have currently to make it there.
If you’re able to contribute or share this with someone who can, I’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you for your support.
