Hi everyone. As many of you know my husband Jorge is in the hospital due to diverticulitis. The surgeons are telling us It's really bad as his diverticulitis had some perforation, and it will continue to get worse as it progresses.
Diverticulitis is a disease that causes your intestines to have pouches or "holes". It usually occurs to people over 40 years old. You can get more info if you click on the link below.

He has had diverticulitis for 10 years. He would go to the doctor every time a relapse occurred, and the doctors would say its impossible for a 27 year old have this problem. The doctors would say it was minor so they would treated with medication. We asked about surgery after 6 years of him going through the same problem, and the doctor said it was a big risk because he was still too young to have this surgery. 2 years ago they decided to give him a colonoscopy and that's when they found out it was worse than they thought. So we decided for him to get the surgery last year since he had insurance, and since the colonoscopy was at the end of the year. Everyone knows things dont go as planned and due to him losing his job, our goals were crushed.
He has had 2 relapses since then and this last time they said it got complicated because now he had perforation

If you look at the pictures above having perforation increases death rate up to 45%.
He has not been able to eat, use the restroom, sit or stand at this time, and has been on IV for 4 days now.
Now the doctors are saying it has gone so bad that he needs a colectomy surgery, so we spoke to the surgeon.
The surgeons are telling us that he needs to have this surgery done as soon as his intestinal tissue heels. It takes 4 to 8 weeks to heal. They do not want to do an emergency surgery because it will become more complicated due to him having a real bad infection. Infections can complicate the surgery and he may end up with a colostomy bag, return disfunction, or up to death. Before he is able to get the surgery we're needing to pay half now and payments later. The surgeons said the surgery is 30k. We're in need of 15k in the next 4 to 8 weeks to get him to the surgery table. Jorge is not a person to ask for help but I am. I will do whatever it takes to help him. I'm trusting in God and I know He will make a way with the blessings of you to let him get the colectomy surgery.
He has been very a serving person to a lot of his loved ones, and has helped very many with all kinds of dilemmas, I believe is his turn to get helped. Like the bible says it's better to give then to receive, and I know he has been a very giving person.
I dont want anything bad to happen to him, because who is going to make my crawfish boil next year or who is going to make me his famous michi bombs? Just kidding. He is very loving to me, the kids, and to many others.
I hope everyone sees how much of a great guy he has become, and he deserves this chance.
Before he was not allowed to get the surgery, now they are willing, we were not ready, but want to get ready with the help of you guys. I know we may not collect all 15k but what we do collect we will guarantee to use it only for his surgery. At that moment we can negotiate with the doctors and see how flexible they can be with us.
As of now he doesn't have insurance, his job does not offer it. He hasn't been able to work since Saturday. I will be the only source of income. We still have our kids to take care of and these medical expenses are going to start building up. With the help of God, ourselves, family, and friends we are trying to find out if we can pay for his surgery. If we had the funds I would not be doing this, but we are in need for help in a short period of time. Any amount that you are able to give us will be greatly appreciated and will help in so many ways towards his surgery. Thank you for your support and assistance. May God bless you and all your loved ones
