Support for Jose Bautista's Family
Jose Bautista served the Stanislaus State campus and community for 15 years and his sudden death has shaken many of us. Jose was a light to all those he came in contact with -- he always had a smile for the students, staff, and faculty who would pass by him as he worked. He would sometimes make coffee for the students who worked in the theatre box office when they were fighting off sleep, or he would share his homemade tamales or fruit from his yard with the students, faculty, and staff. He loved music and supported the arts on our campus, and our students were often honored to hear his compliments on their performances. He had only worked in the Arts complex for the past two years of his 15 year career, but in that short time, he touched our hearts, as he did across campus.
This GoFundMe is to raise funds for Jose's immediate family -- his wife, daughter, and surviving son -- so that they can use it to help with expenses. Jose's brother-in-law is currently in ICU and Jose's wife & children have been caring for him. Any funds we can raise to offset medical or funeral expenses will help the Bautista's out during this time. They may also choose to use some of the funds for the Jose Bautista Scholarship. If you would prefer to donate directly to that scholarship, information can be found on Jose's obituary. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/modestobee/obituary.aspx?n=jose-francisco-bautista&pid=176329497&fhid=24170
I will keep the GoFundMe open even after the goal is met, and donations will continue to go directly to Jose's wife and children. Please contact me if you have any questions.
