My name is Frank Piper, and I am coordinating this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my cousin, Karen Cantrell, and her husband, Todd.

For the last two to three years, Todd struggled with persistent knee problems due to a wound that would not heal. By summer, his condition was finally improving and life started to feel normal again for their family. Unfortunately, in July, Todd began experiencing additional troubling symptoms unrelated to his knee. After a visit to the emergency room and a series of tests, doctors discovered multiple lesions on his frontal lobe and diagnosed him with stage 3 Astrocytoma—a form of brain cancer. Since then, the family has been working through a daunting series of medical and financial obstacles.

Through this ongoing health battle, which has now lasted nearly three years, Karen and her family have felt the impact not only emotionally but financially as well. Their strength and resilience are inspiring, but with Todd unable to work for 3 years, the mounting costs for treatments, medications, transportation, and daily bills have created a heavy burden that is difficult to shoulder alone.
